Three morning decisions

Useful before the drive, not after you arrive.

01

Which car park should I choose?

Compare live availability, distance and favourites in one quick view. Set a weekday, future date and target arrival time to see what recent matching commutes did.

Example shown in the app

Tallawong P3 has 377 available spaces compared with 68 at P1, while Plan compares Kellyville North and South across the week for an 8:00 am arrival.

Screenshot values are illustrative and are not current availability.

02

Do I still have time?

Today’s Guidance separates fill likelihood, current pressure and recent timing evidence. Optional Leave-Time Guidance adds your on-device Apple Maps drive time.

Example shown in the app

See whether today looks tight, normal or quieter than usual, with school-holiday context shown only when matching evidence is available.

Guidance reflects available data and is never a guarantee of a space.

03

Keep checking without reopening the app.

Monitor a selected car park from a Lock Screen Live Activity or glance at scheduled parking and favourites from Apple Watch.

Clear about the data

Live numbers and historical guidance answer different questions.

ParkRide Planner keeps them distinct so you can understand what is happening now, what usually happens, and how certain the guidance is.

Live

What is reported now?

Current available spaces, capacity, practical status and data freshness from supported Transport for NSW feeds.

Typical

What usually happens?

Recent matching weekdays show when a car park normally becomes tight. Comparable NSW school-holiday days are called out when enough evidence exists.

Expected

What might happen today?

Fill likelihood, current pressure and today’s live pace add context to the historical baseline without turning an estimate into a promise.

Will 1,100 more Tallawong parking spaces be enough?

The funded proposal would more than double Tallawong's official commuter parking. A BDO analysis estimates that, on some days, 2,400 motorists compete for the current 975 commuter spaces.

Common questions

A focused commuter utility, not another parking dashboard.

Is ParkRide Planner free?

Yes. The core parking experience is available without a subscription. Supporter unlocks Home Screen widgets, Apple Watch complications and deeper historical planning baselines.

Do I need to create an account?

No. ParkRide Planner does not require an account. Favourites, planning choices and optional location context are kept on your device.

Does it cover train and bus parking as well as Sydney Metro?

Yes. The 39 supported locations include Sydney Metro, Sydney Trains, intercity and bus-linked Park & Ride car parks where live data is available.

Is a parking space guaranteed?

No. Availability can lag actual conditions, and historical patterns are guidance rather than a guarantee. The app shows data freshness and uses uncertainty wording so you can make an informed decision.

Is this an official Transport for NSW app?

No. ParkRide Planner is an independent app built by a Sydney commuter. It uses publicly available Transport for NSW open data and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Transport for NSW.
